Welcome to NIS Admissions!

Looking for an exceptional educational experience for your children?

You’ve come to the right place: Nakornpayap International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand’s “Rose of the North”, rated in 2016 by Travel + Leisure magazine as the “Best City in Asia” and the “2nd Best City in the World”. The Admissions Process

You can view an overview of the five steps of the Admissions Process on our website here and read more detailed information about the procedures here. Our you can download our complete Admissions Information packet with procedures, application form, academic calendar, and fee schedule here, but please keep these essential points in mind:

All courses are taught in English. Nakornpayap International School accommodates a wide variety of abilities and interests, however, applicants must demonstrate average to above average grades for admission. All students’ English proficiency must match the grade levels they seek to enter. For those students who need an extra English boost to qualify for our mainstream academic curriculum, we have introduced our new Academic Access Program, Intensive English and Beyond, starting on 16 January 2017.

Each applicant is interviewed and evaluated.

Every applicant will be interviewed to observe their behavior and evaluate their English skills: speaking, listening, understanding, grammar, and writing. From Grade 1 to 12, each applicant must also take an English and Math test on the computer. Before confirming acceptance and scheduling courses, our Admissions Committee will then review the feedback from the admission interview, the applicant’s school records, and the results from the tests

Current and previous academic records and reports are essential to the application process. If these records are not in English or Thai, they must be officially translated into English and bear the stamp of a certified agency. These documents assist us in the proper assessment of your child and help us plan the ideal educational program for your child. If school records aren’t available for elementary students, please ask your previous school to supply a letter indicating the year(s) of your child’s attendance.

As you look through our website, if any questions come to mind about the programs and opportunities at NIS, or details concerning the admissions process, feel free to ask, and we’ll be happy to help.
