CMAC Calendar 2008 / 2009

P.E. Curriculum

Overview of Elementary Curriculum 2008/2009

We in the P.E department would like to let you know exactly what your child/children will be learning throughout the course of the year. Our P.E curriculum is loosely based on the United Kingdom's "Key Stage" curriculum, but has been adapted to fit in with the conditions we have in Thailand (Weather, Facilities, Culture, Sporting Schedule). We also try to base the curriculum around the major sports that the children will be participating in during the year (Swimming, Track and Field, Football, Basketball, Rugby and this year our first running of the Chiang Mai Olympics). Please take a look at the CMAC calendar to find out exactly when different sporting events are happening throughout the year.

Our number one priority in the P.E department is to try and enhance the student's knowledge and skill within sports and fitness, but to do this and have fun and enjoyment at the same time.

For swimming we are hoping to introduce a certificate based curriculum that students from Kindergarten- Grade 6 will take part in. The students will try and reach different skill levels in order to attain the certificates. We will send out a swimming curriculum to show you what your child/children will be learning.

The P.E class will be split into two halves (Group A, Group B). The P.E class will run on an 8 class rotational programme, this will mean that you will know what you'll be doing in the P.E class before each class.
