Mae Kok Outdoor Education field trip: Grade 6 & 7

At the end of last week, grade 6 and 7 students from NIS had a great time on their Maekok field trip. There were lots of fun physical activities, including kayaking, hiking and rafting. There were also tasks that helped the students develop their teamwork and practical knowledge, such as bush-craft skills and helping with the construction of a local community school. Some highlights of the trip included the students overcoming their fear of heights on the climbing wall and high ropes, the laughter when someone fell in the pond on the confidence obstacle course… and maybe even Mr. Ben getting too cocky in his kayak and capsizing within five minutes of the first activity. All-in-all, the students and teachers shared valuable experiences, which highlights that learning and character development are also important to embrace away from the school campus .
