NIS Elementary Music Concert: At the Movies

On April 3, 2018, all of the Elementary and K3 students came together to perform their concert: At The Movies. It was a collection of theme songs and musical hits from classic films throughout the years. There was a great turnout of friends and family in the audience, and the students brought their best performances to the stage.

K3 opened the show with selections from Oliver and Co., and Cinderella’s ‘Bibbity, Bobbity, Boo’, then followed by Grade 1 singing ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from Moana, and Remember Me from the recent film Coco. Grade 2 opened with a beautiful version of True Colors, and impressed with the audience with the famous ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.’ Grade 3 then began the instrumental portion of our concert, performing the Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters theme songs on recorder. The grade 4 percussion ensemble did a terrific job with their arrangements of ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, and grade 5 finished the instrumental portion of the concert with the impressive violin versions of Skyfall and Star Wars. Finally, all the students came together for a final song as an Elementary Chorus: I’m Still Standing – the Elton John classic, made famous again by the great animated film, SING. These NIS students continue to make excellent progress musically, and we are very proud of their hard work preparing, and the impressive performance that they put on!
